Plain-English summary. We process audio you give us only long enough to produce an AI-generated entertainment result. We do not sell your data. We do not share your audio with advertisers. We do not run any kind of identity, biometric, or polygraph verification. You can delete everything from inside the app or via our Delete Account page at any time.

This policy describes how the LieDetector AI mobile app and website (together, the "Service") collect, use, share, and protect personal information. It applies to all users worldwide.

1. Information we process

1.1 Information you provide

First name you enter during onboarding (used to personalize on-screen and voice copy).
Audio you record or upload for analysis.
Files (audio, video) you import from your device.
Links you paste (YouTube, podcast, social URLs). We treat the URL as text.
Speaker labels and titles you set on analyses.
Email address if you sign in with Apple and choose to share it.
Payment confirmation tokens (managed by Apple App Store and Google Play; we never see your card details).

1.2 Automatically collected

Anonymous user ID (Supabase + RevenueCat) so your subscription and saved analyses can sync across devices.
Device & app diagnostics: OS version, app version, crash stack traces, anonymous device identifier (Sentry).
Subscription state: product ID, trial status, renewal status (RevenueCat).

We do not collect advertising IDs (IDFA / GAID), precise location, contacts, or any background sensor data.

1.3 Information generated by the Service

Transcripts produced by our transcription provider from your audio.
AI signal scores, timeline points, and narrative summaries generated from those transcripts.

2. How we use the information

To produce the AI analysis you requested.
To save your past analyses on the device and sync them to your account.
To process and validate subscription purchases.
To diagnose crashes and improve reliability.
To respond to support requests and legal obligations.

We never use your data to train models. We never sell or rent your data. We do not run cross-app or cross-site advertising tracking and do not request the iOS App Tracking Transparency permission.

3. Subprocessors and third parties

We share the minimum data needed with the following providers. Each is contractually bound to use the data only to deliver their service to us.

We do not currently use any other subprocessors. If we add one, this list will be updated.

4. Retention

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Delete your account and all associated data. See Delete Account.
Portability: receive a copy in a machine-readable format.
Restrict or object to certain processing.
Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent.
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@liedetectorai.app. We respond within 30 days.

5.1 California (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of it. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law.

5.2 EEA, UK, Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Our legal bases for processing are: (a) contractual necessity to provide the Service, (b) legitimate interests for security and crash reporting, (c) consent for optional features. International transfers from the EEA/UK to the US rely on Standard Contractual Clauses with each subprocessor.

6. Children

The Service is rated 17+ and is not intended for children under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If you believe a child has used the Service, contact us and we will delete the data.

7. Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+). Audio sent for transcription is processed in memory. Saved analyses in our database are protected by per-user row-level security; only the account that created an analysis can read it.

8. Disclaimer about results

LieDetector AI generates AI signals for entertainment only. It does not detect lies, prove dishonesty, diagnose any condition, or evaluate truthfulness as a fact. Do not use results to make legal, medical, employment, custody, or relationship decisions. See our Terms of Use for the full disclaimer.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics. The mobile app does not use cookies and does not request the iOS App Tracking Transparency permission.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change and material changes will be highlighted in-app on next launch.
